Why Choose Us:

Why choose Host Networks for Web Hosting?

  • We have been around.
    Host Networks was established 1998.

  • We will be around.
It happens all to often - you joined some 'cheap' hosting company based on pricing alone only to wake up one morning and realise your site has gone....let alone so has the company you hosted with. In fact most of our customers come from 'fly-by-night ers' hosts that are there one day and gone the next.

  • Fast, Multi-homed, Redundant Australian Network.
With our Cisco powered redundant core network and multiple concurrently connected carriers ensures there is no single point of failure. Unlike other providers who may flood (over saturate/high contention ratio) their network or only switch to another carrier once their primary fails, or worse be single homed, Host Networks ensures that quality is always maintained by offering in it's SLA that once our links reach 70% capacity that they be upgraded.

  • Servers hosted in our own World Class Data Centre facility.

  • Sites hosted on High Quality Servers.
Many hosts chose the cheapest option they can. In many cases the 'server' is of a quality that you wouldn't even trust to be your home PC. We only use high quality server components and perform R&D frequently between top server manufacturers to ensure that the servers we use are robust and built to perform.

  • Latest technology - Hardware Replacement.
Hardware will fail, it's just a matter of when. To reduce the risks we have a maximum lifecycle policy of 3 years on our servers to always keep our fleet up-to-date with the latest technology.

  • Low contention ratio ensure server resources are not overloaded.
The common trend by most hosting providers to offer 'cheap' pricing is to squeeze as many customers on each server, in some cases over 500+ accounts a server, this in the end leads to never ending problems due to system resources constantly running as a high load. Host Networks has a policy of allowing on average 100 accounts per web hosting server.

  • Globally Redundant Name Servers and Backup MX (Mail Server).
The name server is responsible for transferring your domain name (human format) to an IP address (computer format). This is how computers find your site when someone looks up your domain name. Most hosting companies run their name servers on the same network as your site (and in many cases on the same server), if that goes down, so does your site and emails as your domain name won't be able to be resolved. Host Networks uses geographically dispersed name servers. This also helps in the translation of the address for faster response times.

  • 24/7 Network and Server Monitoring
Our network and servers are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by software and humans.
